About Your Love Story
How did you two first meet?
We first met at The Oystercatcher in Polzeath, where Sam was my manager. He actually tried to kiss me one night and I said no—but a week later, we went on a proper date. After that first date, I moved in with him, and we’ve never been apart since.
Can you share the proposal story?
Sam proposed in May 2024. He had set up a picnic on the cliff face at New Polzeath, but I didn’t believe it was for me at first and almost didn’t want to go. When he popped the question, our dog Albert came running down to join us, which made it even more special. Afterwards, we went back to The Oystercatcher, where all my family and friends had traveled from Derby to surprise me. There was even a DJ waiting—it was the most perfect celebration.
What’s one thing you love most about each other?
I love how Sam puts up with all my quirks and how kind and caring he is. Sam says he loves my personality and, of course, how beautiful I am.

What was the vision or theme for your wedding?
Our theme was pastel, dreamy “Taylor Swift Lover” vibes—soft, romantic, and full of joy.
Which details of the day felt most you as a couple?
The way everyone kept saying, “That’s so Ashleigh and Sam!” really stood out. The happiness and fun of the day felt like such a reflection of us as a couple.
Did anything funny, unexpected, or especially memorable happen?
Yes! The impromptu dance-off that broke out during the quiz was unforgettable—it was such a fun, spontaneous moment.
Feelings & Memories
How did you feel the morning of your wedding?
Nervous, but also so excited for everything to come.
What moment from the day stands out most vividly when you look back now?
Our first dance—it was magical, and I just remember feeling so incredibly happy.
Was there a part of the day that felt especially emotional or meaningful?
Seeing my grandad cry was such a touching and emotional moment.

Advice for Other Couples
Do you have any tips for couples planning their wedding?
Don’t stress about the little things—take everything as it comes. At the end of the day, what matters most is that you’re happy. Oh, and don’t waste money on an expensive cake!
If you could relive one part of the day again, what would it be?
Honestly, all of it—it was absolutely perfect from start to finish.
